Worcester Wine Regions
The Breede River is the biggest wine producers
in South Africa, giving around 20% of the country's exports, while
Hex River Valley produces plus minus seventeen million boxes of
grapes per year. Along with this agricultural produce, is the Greater
Brandvlei Dam with 342 million cubic litres. The dam was finished
in 1936, expanded in 1987 and offers water to numerous irrigation
projects in these regions. The Olof Bergh Wine
Cellar and the KWV Brandy Farms form part of the South African Brandy
Route, about 60 minutes drive from Cape Town.
