Paarl forms an historical and enormous part in the Winelands of Cape Town. This wine region lie half a kilometer above sea level and is famous for three enormous rocks - Paarl, Gordon and Bretagne whose ages are around 500 million years old. Paarl offers many wine farms and estates, and is a highlight of our standard Cape Town Wine Tours.

The Taal Monument is situated on the slopes of Paarl Mountain overlooking the vast strecth of wine farms and vineyards and farms laid within the valley and against the mountain slopes.

Paarl is the headquarters of a number of large agricultural companies and is considered a treasure chest for South Africa architecture and wine. These companies and agricultural institutions will be touched upon during our wine tours from Cape Town.

Apart from it's cultural and historical impact, Paarl offers a magnitude of restaurants and hotels where visitors can relax with a superb wine and gourmet meals. One can comfortably spend a weekend in Paarl as a breakaway from Cape Town city life.

In order to stay abreast of international standards and to lead the field with regard to wine quality in Cape Town and South Africa, the wine farms of these regions formed an orginisation called Paarl Vintners.
