The 7 Day Private Garden Route tours are private, fully loaded tour package and requires a minimum of 2 persons. This is an in-depth tour of The Garden Route with many activities and highlights to choose from. Visit Cape Agulhas and The Southern tip of Africa, explore the wild of South Africa at Addo and discover nature, adventure, relaxation or adrenaline along the Garden Route. This tour is perfect for families, honeymoons, couples or groups.

Day 1
Cape Town - Mossel Bay, roughly 390 km, 4 hr drive

We leave the city and take the N2 motorway over the Helderberg Mountains. We drive through the scenic farmlands of the Overberg on our way to Mossel Bay where a few activities and attractions await. We spend the night in Mossel Bay.

Stops of interest along the way:
Lion Walk
- A 1 hr walk with hand-reared lions in a free-roaming field (for your account).
Diaz Museum - Explore the Portuguese history and Post Office Tree of Mossel Bay (no charge).
Aloe Factory Shop - A rest stop in Albertinia with its massive Aloe industry (no charge).
Mossel Bay - Enjoy the historic town's scenic, coastal views and walkways (no charge).

Safaris, boat rides, lion walk or museums are available


Day 2
Mossel Bay - Tsitsikamma, roughly 200 km, 2.5 hr drive

Today we wake up with plenty of things to do and see as we drive to Tsitsikamma and the protected forests of The Garden Route. The road will provide you with dramatic coastlines, mountains and natural scenery. Our night is spent in Tsitsikamma.

Stops of interest along the way:
Shark Cage Diving
- Join a boat in Mossel Bay and view Great White sharks (for your account).
Elephant experience - Feed and walk alongside elephants (for your account).
Bungy Jump Bridge
- A stop for a dramatic view, or jump for the adventurous (viewing is free).
Big Tree
- A 45 minute forest walk to SA's oldest and largest Yellowwood tree (no charge).
Tsitsikamma Park Nature Walk - 1hr walk to Tsitsikamma Park's suspension bridge (for your account).


Day 3
Tsitsikamma - Addo, roughly 240 km, 2.5hr drive

Day 3 is safari day! We drive to Addo National Park where our afternoon, guided game drive awaits us along with dinner. Tonight we sleep in the area of Addo and explore the wild of South Africa.

Ziplining
- A 1hr zipslide adventure in the Garden Route forests for all ages (for your account).
Afternoon Game Drive - Spend the afternoon and evening game viewing with dinner (included)


Day 4
Addo - Knysna, roughly 330 km, 3.5hr drive

Today we spend some early morning hours viewing more wildlife in Addo from our tour vehicle. We leave the park before lunch time and start our drive to Knysna. There are a number of stops and things to do along the way. We spend the night in Knysna.

Stops of interest along the way:
Addo Game Viewing - We spend another hour or two viewing game from our tour vehicle (included)
Knysna Waterfront - Enjoy some shopping or dinner at the town's waterfront.
Lagoon Boat Cruise - Join a relaxing boat cruise on The Knysna Lagoon (for your account).
Monkeyland - A guided forest tour in a free-roaming monkey sanctuary (for your account).
Birds of Eden - Stroll through the world's largest free-flight bird cage (for your account).


Day 5
Knysna - Oudtshoorn, roughly 120 km, 1.5 hr drive

We wake up in the heart of The Garden Route - Knysna. After exploring the town and cliffs for a bit we head off inland to Oudtshoorn in The Klein Karoo. Oudtshoorn is known as The Ostrich Capital of the world. The spectacular Outeniqua Mountain takes us into this semi-desert area where we will overnight.

Knysna Heads
- View the town and Indian Ocean from The Knysna cliffs (no charge).
Ostrich Farm tour
- Visit a working Ostrich farm to learn interesting facts about these birds (no charge).
Cango Caves - A guided tour of incredible rock formations, stalactites and stalacmites (for your account).
Cango Wildlife Ranch - View and interact with many different types of animals (for your account).

Elephants, hiking or Cango Caves can be done on the second day of our 3 day garden route tours


Day 6
Oudtshoorn - Cape Agulhas, roughly 330 km, 4 hr drive

Oudtshoorn provides a number of things to see and do before we leave for the coast and Cape Agulhas. We will arrive at the most Southern tip on the African continent in the afternoon where we will spend the night in this seaside town.

Stops of interest along the way:
Meerkat Adventures
- Witness a Meerkat family wake up and prepare for the day (for your account).
Route 62 - We take South Africa's most famous country road to Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo.
Ronnie's Sex Shop - Visit this popular farm stall with a funny story behind the name (no charge).

Agulhas South Point - Stand on the most Southern tip of Africa (no charge).

Enjoy wildlife, adventure or scenery along the way back from our 3 day garden route tours


Day 7
Cape Agulhas to Cape Town, roughly 270 km, 3.5hr drive

The final day of our 5 Day Garden Route tours takes us to Hermanus and Betty's Bay before heading back to Cape Town around the Helderberg mountains. In the months from June to November some whale spotting or a whale boat tour can be arranged. We also pass a colony of African penguins. Clarence Drive mountain pass provides us with endless horizons and views before we get back to Cape Town in the late afternoon.

Shipwreck Museum - Explore the stories around hundreds of shipwrecks around Agulhas (no charge).
Hermanus - Enjoy free time, lunch or land-based whale watching (Jun-Nov) in Hermanus.
Whale Boat Tours - Optional whale boat tours (Jun-Nov) to get up close with the whales (for your account)
Penguins - Visit a colony of African Penguins in Betty's Bay (no charge).
End of tour - Arrive back in Cape Town in the late afternoon or early evening.
